What is EU261?
EU Regulation 261/2004 (EU261) is a comprehensive set of rules in the European Union that protects passengers against severe flight disruption. It establishes common rules on compensation and assistance to passengers in the event of denied boarding and of cancellation or long delay of flights.
How much compensation can you get?
The compensation depends on the flight distance:
- €250 for flights up to 1,500 km
- €400 for internal EU flights over 1,500 km or other flights between 1,500-3,500 km
- €600 for flights beyond 3,500 km
